Quick Update – Window Sill Tiled

The window sill and sink splash back is now fully tiled and grouted.

Mr Piggy came by to check it out.

Front Room – Time is Running Out.

The aim is to transform the front room to a neatly finished blank canvas before Christmas. Ready for sanding the floors and decorating in the new year…. excluding the bay window wall, which I’ll render & plaster in the new year too.

I also sprayed the fireplace for my lounge. Ran out spray though, so it’s not quite done. The room doesn’t have any windows that open either so working in the room later on was an experience..

The plaster by the bay was worse than I thought, so had to take it back to brick and will need to render this before plastering. It’s not rising damp, the downpipe at the front of the house needed re-routing.

Still got a bit more filling to do.

Some people think that doing up a room, means strip the wallpaper, then stick on a couple of coats of paint. Makes me laugh… cry/laugh, it’s the same thing really right?

Kitchen – blending tones

This weekend I painted the doors, door frames, architrave and window boards in the kitchen. I also put on the last cupboard doors, apart from the two that need cutting (a dad job).

The kitchen is looking good now. It all blends together nicely.

I just need to buy the cooker splashback and tile the window sill above the sink. And in Jan I will borrow my dad’s car to get the materials to box in the pipes and the plinths.

I also stripped the paper from the ceiling in the front room. I thought the paper would be hiding a hideous ceiling, but apart from a few smallish cracks it’s not bad.Β It won’t need any lining paper.

Kitchen Accessories

I put up my kitchen hooks tonight. They’ll look great when I have all stainless utensils πŸ™‚

The architrave went up the other night. This along with the finished tile skirting really neatens up everything.

I was going to paint the door tonight, but remembered I’m not doing it white and don’t have the right paint yet. I’m going for another earthy tone to blend everything together.
